The call to adventure.

Back in 2017, Pam Glazier, Matt Glazier, and Scott Keddy had a great idea. White Rock was desperately in need of a local gathering place, where friends could get together, grab a pint, and listen to some fantastic local music. With their roots established in White Rock, they began planning what would become a new business venture, the now BC-famous, 3 Dogs Brewing.

By the way, you can scroll down for a walkthrough video of what the site looks like.

Something’s brewing.

Over the next few years, 3 Dogs grew into a local institution, ultimately calling Downtown White Rock home, just off of Johnston Road between Thrift and Russell.

It’s become beloved for more than a few reasons. First and foremost, they’re creating some of the tastiest beer on this side of the Fraser River. Folks come from across the Lower Mainland for a pint or two at their tasting room, but that’s not all.

The food scene at 3 Dogs has also evolved into a spectacular offering. Nachos, gourmet hot dogs, and flatbreads steal the show in the grub department.

It was as the food menu was really driving new business to the brewery that they first started to consider a new website for their customers. We met with 3 Dogs in late 2023 to discuss designing a new menu, with a custom QR Code that visitors could scan to access their digital menu.

A new website for an established brewery.

After launching the menu, the team at 3 Dogs agreed that it was finally time to get to work on a new, custom website that would showcase their space, their team, their menu, and of course, their flagship beers (Murphy’s Law-ger is a personal favourite).

I drove out to White Rock and sat down with Pam, Scott and Matt in their tasting room to discuss design styles, functionality, and ultimately what they’d like to see out of a new website for 3 Dogs Brewing. They also mentioned they’d like to set up emails for themselves, and to showcase a video that was previously filmed about 3 Dogs.

We gave them a quote, shook hands, and did what we do best–got to work.

The work begins.

The following day, the work began. We received access to 3 Dogs Brewing’s DNS, made some long overdue updates to reduce spam, and began building 3 Dogs Brewing’s new online offering on our staging website.

First, we selected a new combination of fonts, colours, and images to be used on the site. We collected new photos to highlight 3 Dogs' social channels (Facebook and Instagram), created a contact page, and made slight variations to their logo to fit the new design.

Next, we turned to the top navigation bar on the website. We built a new set of buttons that highlight 3 Dogs colours upon hover, and quickly take visitors to their new menu, should they be looking to make an order at the brewery.

We set all of the photos to fade in from the left and right as you scroll through the site, giving it a friendly feel that’s both inviting and well designed. Buttons will take visitors to the menu, to the contact page, and to the About Page where they can learn more about the history of 3 Dogs.

It also includes what you’d most expect to see on a brewery’s website: hours of operation and the flagship beer offering.

Going live.

Pam and the team at 3 Dogs loved the new design and were ready to bring it live, but first, a new QR code was needed to help guests access the online menu. After creating the code and designing cards to be placed on tables throughout the brewery, we were good to go live.

We pushed the site to production in less than 24 hours, set up staff emails, and assisted the 3 Dogs team in accessing their new inboxes on their work computer and mobile devices. The rest is history.

Start to finish, we planned, built and shipped this project in about three weeks.

Done and dusted.

3 Dogs Brewing’s new digital presence is clean, easy to navigate, and cool. It matches the physical location perfectly, provides an easy-to-navigate menu, and an easy way to get in touch with the brewery for anyone looking to plan a party or ask a question.

We loved working on this project, just like we love working with other clients in the food and beverage industry like Elevated Pizza and Rock N Roll Tequila.

Here's a quick walkthrough of what the new site looks like.

Sit, stay, good dog.

Do not miss your chance to have a delicious sleeve of Bailey’s Blonde Ale, Blackie the Brown Dog’s Porter, or the Sea Dog IPA. If you live in Greater Vancouver, plan a visit the next time you head south. If you live in the White Rock or South Surrey area, make a trip tomorrow and plan out what you’ll be ordering today - maybe on their fancy new website? :)

Our sincere thanks to Pam, Scott, Matt, and the team at 3 Dogs Brewing.
