The call to adventure

Imagine a tool that syncs with your car and instantly tells you what’s wrong. That’s the power of FIXD—a revolutionary product designed to take the guesswork out of car maintenance. As a company heavily reliant on digital marketing, FIXD’s primary avenue for driving sales has been through Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok ads. Their strategy has always leaned towards authentic, user-generated content—ads that feel real, relatable, and spontaneous. However, with an insatiable demand for fresh content, FIXD needed a partner agency that could keep up with their pace and vision. That’s when they turned to Something Great Marketing.

Embarking on the journey

The opportunity to work with FIXD came through a referral from an existing client, Michael Felson, who heads up one of Florida's top accounting firms, GMFG. Our kick-off call in April 2024 with Alec Brodie, Performance Creative Manager at FIXD, immediately set the tone for a collaborative and dynamic partnership. Alec shared the challenges they’d faced with previous creators—content that felt too polished, too scripted, and ultimately inauthentic. We knew we could deliver something different.

The creative process was a true collaboration. FIXD provided the initial scripts, and we worked closely with them to refine the vision. Once the concepts were locked in, it was time to find the right talent and locations to bring these ads to life. We scouted mechanic shops, dealerships, and various other spots to ensure the setting felt as real as the content. Actors were carefully selected to match the vibe FIXD was looking for—people who could convincingly play the part of car experts, not just performers reading lines.

The work begins

Preparation is everything when it comes to a successful shoot. We conducted multiple interviews with actors to ensure we had the right fit for each role. The goal was to create content that immediately grabbed attention. Knowing the importance of the hook, we designed each video to be fast-paced with plenty of cuts, keeping the audience engaged from start to finish.

In May 2024, we completed our first major shoot, producing 24 videos in a single day. These ads were tailored for Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, capturing the authentic, user-generated feel that FIXD knew would resonate with their audience. The appetite for content grew quickly, leading to a second shoot in July 2024, where we doubled down and created 45 videos in one day.

Here's a look at one of the social videos we made for FIXD.

The feedback

The response from FIXD was overwhelmingly positive. They were thrilled with how natural the videos felt—like they were coming from genuine car experts rather than actors. The content perfectly captured the authenticity they were after, reinforcing the trust and reliability that FIXD’s brand is built on.

Here's another social video we created for FIXD.

Going live

The campaigns launched across Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, and the ads have been running successfully ever since. We continue to collaborate with FIXD on further campaigns, constantly pushing to create even more engaging content for their audience.

The return

The results speak for themselves: FIXD has seen double the return on ad spend compared to any previous campaigns. The hooks we incorporated, like the visually compelling shot of taking money out of a gas tank, proved to be a major draw for their audience. Looking ahead, we were thrilled to learn that FIXD wanted to create an even higher quality video campaign specifically for YouTube. Check that video out below, we loved the final product.

Our sincere thanks to Alec Brodie and the team at FIXD for trusting us with their vision. We’re thrilled to continue this journey together, creating content that not only captures attention but also drives success.
