The call to adventure
In Tampa Bay, where the sun shines all day and the golf carts cruise around the clock, King Carts has been the go-to place to purchase a golf cart for the past two years.Â
Bart Harla, a former low-voltage electrician, saw an untapped opportunity in the market and took a leap of faith. His passion for engineering precision and a keen eye for business helped him build a thriving local operation.Â
But Bart wasn’t content with just local success; he had bigger plans. He wanted to expand his reach beyond Tampa Bay and start delivering carts across the entire USA.Â
The goal was to make King Carts a nationwide name. We've done this plenty of times in the past, so even thought it was a tall order, we were up for the challenge.
Embarking on the journey
Searching for a marketing partner to help King Carts reach new heights, Bart found us through a quick Google search and made the call. Just another example of how investing in local SEO pays off.Â
Taylor, our Co-founder and resident golf expert, took a trip to Bart’s office later that same day, ready to dive in. During the meeting, we reviewed their current ads, identified quick fixes, and shared our vision for a broader, more effective strategy. The mission was clear: Use custom video ads to reach high net-worth individuals around the country who would be interested in buying a golf cart.
The meeting
We quickly realized Meta ads were the key to unlocking King Carts’ potential. With Bart’s knowledge of his product and customer and our marketing expertise, we formed a plan to create engaging, conversion-driven video ads that would capture attention and drive sales. We agreed on a contract, shook hands, and got to work the next day.
The work begins
Our first task once we arrived the next day was to brainstorm ad concepts that would stand out in the crowded digital landscape. The ads needed to be quick, engaging, and, most importantly, sell carts. We worked closely with Bart, getting him comfortable on camera and honing his delivery. And after just a half day of shooting, Bart had transformed into an infectiously confident on-camera talent.
Bart isn’t a “script guy,” but he knows how to sell the heck out of a golf cart. That meant that each video had to be loosely planned and then worked through live - a fun process for not just us, but the client too. With Bart at the helm, we highlighted the carts' features, added special offers like free sound bars, underglow kits, and coolers, and created compelling narratives that we believed would resonate with viewers across the country.
Once the ads were finalized, they were uploaded to Meta. We started with a modest ad spend of $25/day, then quickly ramped up to over $100/day as the ads began delivering impressive results. Leads started pouring in—upwards of 30 per day with an average cost per lead of $2.79 – with sales following close behind. Every cart advertised has sold out quickly, and the momentum has only continued to build.
The feedback
Bart was thrilled with the results. He gave us a 5-star Google review and a glowing video testimonial (see below) that spoke volumes about the impact of our work. The success of the ads was undeniable, and Bart’s excitement was contagious.
Going live
We’ve been running the campaign since April, and each new ad set has been more successful than the last. As the ad budget increased, so did our reach and results. Millions of people have seen King Carts’ ads, leading to consistent sellouts of their inventory.
The return
King Carts’ biggest problem now: Not enough inventory.
‍
The overwhelming success of the ads has driven Bart to expand his business even further. Plans are already underway to open a new showroom, one that can house a larger inventory to keep up with the growing demand. The return on investment has been incredible, and Bart couldn’t be happier. Here's a quick video testimonial he left for us.
Our sincere thanks to Bart and the King Carts team for trusting Something Great Marketing with their vision. We’re excited to see where this journey takes them next—and to keep delivering results that convert.
